Free the Whales

The book’s plot follows a boy named Alistair McAlistair, who is obsessed with his “Free the Whales” T-shirt. He refuses to take it off or let his mother wash it, fearing that if he does, he will lose his three best friends—the whales. Eventually, the army is called to his house to force him to take it off. When the shirt is finally washed, the three whales from the logo mysteriously vanish from the fabric, leaving only the words “The whales are free”.
